FAQs

Please get in touch if you cannot find an answer to your question.

What is permanent make-up?

Permanent make-up is a form of cosmetic tattooing also known as micropigmentation. The process involves implantation of pigments beneath the surface of your skin using a tattoo machine or a handheld tool. The process uses pigments rather than inks meaning it will fade over time but will always remain in the skin. Top ups may be required and are advised every few years for a fresh look.

How long does permanent make-up take?

The initial procedure itself can take between 2 – 2.5 hours. For your first appointment, please allow up to 3 hours, this enables us to take our time to draw and agree the perfect shape, procedures to be explained and questions to be answered. Following your treatment you will be fine to drive home, return to work and go about your usual activities for the rest of the day.

For your touch up appointment please allow 1.5 hours.

What are the benefits of permanent make-up?

Permanent make-up will not only give you beautiful long lasting make-up, it can make a life-changing difference to those who have sparse eyebrows or no hair, have difficulty applying make-up themselves, reduce time on daily make-up routines and give you 100% smudge proof and waterproof make-up.

How long does permanent make-up last?

Permanent make-up is long lasting and will remain in the skin for years depending on your skin type, lifestyle and care.  I use high quality ink pigments so your colour will only fade to a lighter colour of itself. I recommend booking a 12 - 18 month Colour Boost appointment to keep your shape and colour looking fresh and avoid having to have a full new treatment years later.

Is permanent make-up safe?

It is safe, we work in a very hygienic, safe and sterile environment and everything that comes into contact with the client is sterile and then disposed of correctly.  Needles and microblades are pre-sterilised and fully disposable and a new one is used for every treatment. All ink pigments are hypo-allergenic, they meet all of the FDA & EU Regulations for safety.  The ingredients are a combination of powdered pigments, glycerin, witch hazel, aqua, rosin, benzyl alcohol, and isopropyl alcohol. They are gamma-ray sterilized, vegan and cruelty-free. Allergic reactions are rare, however, we will also perform a patch test to rule out any allergic reaction to our products being used.

Does permanent make-up hurt?

I will apply a topical numbing cream to the skin before the treatment takes place. This numbs the area making the treatment more comfortable. You may feel a slight discomfort whereas some people don't feel it & have been known to fall asleep!

How long does permanent make-up take to heal?

The treated area will be very sensitive for a few days and can take up to 2 weeks to heal.  I will provide you with an aftercare pack and instructions which must be followed to ensure your new treatment is looked after and stays at its very best.

Can I choose the shape and colour myself?

You will be at the centre of the whole process; I will work with you to find the most achievable natural shape and colour to match your hair colour and skin tone.

Can I have a lip treatment if I suffer from cold sores?

Yes! I just recommend that you apply an antiviral cream such as Zovirax 5 days prior to and 5 days after treatment.

Can I have a lip treatment if I've had lip filler or Botox?

Ideally, it would be best to have your permanent make-up treatment first, if this isn't possible, I recommend you wait at least 6 weeks after to ensure you're fully healed.

How can I pay?

I ask for a £50 deposit, this can be made anytime via bank transfer or in cash during the consultation. The remaining balance will be due in full on the day of your first treatment either by cash or bank transfer.

Can I have permanent make-up if I'm pregnant or breast feeding?

Unfortunately, we are not insured to perform any permanent make-up treatment on anybody that is pregnant or breast feeding.
